The Eagle Series® has a true embedded,
32-bit real-time operating system that will support up to 4
printheads.
The physical size of each of the printheads is about
1/2 of that of "hi-res" systems so they take up less conveyor space and fit
into smaller places.
A Windows ('98, 2k, NT4.0, and XP) graphical user
interface software package is furnished free with each machine so you can
prepare, edit and back-up your messages from your desk instead of standing on
the factory floor. These messages can be loaded to the Eagle Series
controller via the standard internal floppy disk or flash disk, or the optional
Ethernet feature. The handheld terminal operator interface allows on-floor
final adjustments and convenient operator selection of new
messages.

functions.
System
Software
Operating
System: True real-time, 32 bit, pre-emptive, embedded operating
system.
User
Interface:
A Windows ( '98, 2k, NT4.0, and XP) graphical user
interface software package (ImageMaster) is furnished free with each machine so
that messages can be prepared and edited, and backed up at you desk instead of
standing on the factory floor. These messages can be loaded to the Eagle Series
controller via the standard internal floppy disk or flash disk, or the standard
Ethernet feature. The handheld terminal operator interface allows on-floor
final adjustments and convenient operator selection of new messages.
Time: 4
independent clock/calendars. Multiple time formats including 12 and 24 hour.
Each clock has a Start of Day option allowing synchronization with "factory
standard time".
Calendar:
Multiple formats plus Julian date, week of year, month letter, etc.
Use By Date:
Offset in number of days.
Counters:
Five printable counters. Counters include alpha characters, start number, stop
number, external reset, and save for later restart at the saved value. One
counter can reset another thereby providing case counts (1 of 35, 2 of 35,
etc.).
Shift
Codes: 4 programmable Shift Codes, with roll-over. Shifts names are
programmable as well as start and end times.
Bar Codes:
Code 39, I 2 of 5, UPC- A, EAN 13, Code 128, SCC14, US
Postal and more. Premium quality 2D barcodes can be done via ImageMaster
and the Ethernet connection. Variable data function can be embedded in barcodes.
The highest quality barcodes available from an inkjet system. Encoder
required.
Fonts:
Proportional fonts (Version 6.0 and up) plus 4 standard type styles, 8 heights
each. See our font page. Font
widths (including 1/2 wide) are selectable during message
programming.
Printing
Features: Reverse, invert, inverse, rotate, bolderize (inserts columns),
multiple drops (double, triple and more drops to enhance darkness. Great for
printing on dark surfaces.)
Repeat Print
Function: By specifying the message length in inches, The message can be
made to repeat a fixed number of times or non-stop.
Message
Length: Up to 120 inches with a single printhead and standard amount of
memory. Standard memory allows 60 inches for 2 or more printheads. Additional
memory can be added to extend this.
Number of Messages Stored On-Board: Usually, more than
500. Depends on message complexity. For large numbers of messages, the Ethernet
feature can be used for storage of the bulk of the messages on a host
computer.
Graphics: Any Windows Bitmaps in 1 bit format and sized
correctly can be used. Additionally, a .wmf format is accepted to allow fixed
resolution as sizes are adjusted.
Ink Usage: Automatically calculated for each message. This is
done by the Eagle software and by ImageMaster. You can create a message at your
desk and predict the ink usage and cost without leaving your chair.
Conveyor Speed: Automatically calculated.
Operator Ease: Security system allows hiding the handheld terminal
screens that are not needed by the operator. Operator simply selects the needed
message and presses Enter. No need for complicated operator input.
Security: Full-featured, password-based security
functions.
User Prompts: Programmable prompts for user input at time of
startup. A list of selectable items can be prepared and stored. Operator simply
selects what is desired (e.g.; color, size, batch, etc.), no requirement for any
key entry by the operator.
Auto re-start of last message: Hands-off after power up will
result in last stored message being automatically loaded and ready to
run.
Saved messages include all machine setups. Speed, delay, etc.
are saved with the message. Allows messages to be easily edited and saved as new
ones without machine setup knowledge.
Selectable internal de-bounce for switch and relay print start
signals. Enhances use of relays, PLC's, or other external inputs.
Data Input from
data base. OLEDB support. Allows for
changing messages on the fly in applications such as
addressing.
Software
There are four software tools available to prepare, transmit, and manage
messages for the Eagle Series. These are:
Eagle Series (on-board) done with the Handheld
Terminal.
Messages are prepared using simple Function Keys to move between system
screens and fields. Comes with and runs on the
system.
ImageMaster
ImageMaster offers a full Windows/NT-based graphical user interface with
drag and drop, cut and paste, re-sizing, and pixel-placement features. Cool
palette feature allows saving message features by customer or by product.
"Old" Win Eagle functions are now a part of ImageMaster as a Properties
Drop-Down. Latest Release is available to download from this web page. It's free!
TransEagle
A Windows/NT graphical utility that allows Ethernet file transfers,
message previewing, and barcode scanning automation of message transfer and
printing. Runs with up to 5 Eagles on a LAN via Ethernet and TCP/IP. Excellent
for maintaining up-to-date message files in multiple printer environments. Free!
FontMaster
A Windows 9x, NT4.0, 2k utility that allow you to convert
almost any true type font into an Eagle font. Guess what: it's free!
DataSelect
A Visual Basic application that uses Microsoft Access databases to create
messages. Allows a large database to be used as a source for the creation of
messages. Avoids having to create large numbers of messages at one time. Just
tap into your database and create the messages as they are needed.
