"TRiLOGI" is the name of the ladder or
ladder+BASIC programming software for the E, H and M-series of PLCs. The are
several versions of the software available. The M-series super PLCs are
programmable using either the Windows version 5.1 or the DOS version 4.13. The
E10s and H-series PLCs are only programmable using the DOS version 3.3 of TRiLOGI program.
All TRiLOGI versions have built-in simulator
which allows ladder or ladder+BASIC program to be simulated on a PC without
purchasing the PLCs. As such the TRiLOGI software is the ideal training tools
for learning about PLC programming. We have always made available educational
versions of the TRiLOGI software for free download by anyone! This highly
acclaimed PLC software has been used by many companies, colleges and technical
institutes in many countries to train new users on ladder logic programming ,
including Australian RMIT, TAFE and Old Dominion University of the USA, Purdue
University, State University of New York, Kent
State University and many other colleges and universities around the world
(See PLC course instructor's comments).

Tutorial The new Internet TRiLOGI
Version 5.1 runs under Windows 95/98/ME, Windows 2000, NTor
XP, making an already highly effective PLC learning tool better than ever!
The Windows version of the
TRiLOGI software is a "client-server" software suite which is designed from the
ground up to allow PLC programming across a network. The software comprises two
parts: the "Client" and the "Server". The
Server runs on a PC that needs to be connected to the PLC. The Client can run on
the same computer or on a different computer from the server. Hence as long as
the computers are networked (including connection to the Internet) this
architecture permits remote programming of the PLC via the Internet in exactly
the same way as when programming the PLC locally.

Note to Professors: A Free TRiLOGI software for Every
Student!!
We welcome any technical institutes and
colleges to use the TRiLOGI software to train students on ladder logic
programming at no charge at all! We would appreciate it if you could email to
us at: ridders.pack@pandora.be to inform us
that you will be providing a link to our website at:so that the students can download the
TRiLOGI software from our webpage to do their homework! Suggestions and
feedback on our products would be greatly appreciated. Please tell your friends
and colleages about the program if you enjoy using it.

How is Educational
Version different from Production Version?
Educational version of TRiLOGI 5.0 is a
complete (not a crippled version) software package for learning about PLC
programming and for users to evaluate the power of Ladder+BASIC software
programming. There is no performance limitation and you are able to create and
save your programs on a local hard disk, simulate the programs and print them
out into hardcopies. The program files you created using the Educational version
is identical to that of the Production version so you can write and test your
entire program to make sure that it can do what you want before purchasing the
PLCs for actual applications!
The Educational version of TRiLOGI is
almost identical in every aspect to the Production version of Internet TRiLOGI
5.0, except that:
- It does not include the web
server(TLServer) which can turn your PC into a web server to allow you to
remotely load the TRILOGI as an applet using a web browser so that you can
remotely program/monitor your PLC via the Internet.
- It does not allow you to
connect to a PLC or the TLServer for programming and monitoring of PLC
operations.
However, we do provide mock-up simulated
sessions for program transfer and on-line monitoring so that you can have a feel
of the actual process of PLC programming and on-line monitoring.

How is TRiLOGI 5.0
different from DOS Version?
Advantage
of Version 5.0
- Running under a windowing O/S, the new
version 5.0 software is more user-friendly and it allows you to open several
different windows such as the ladder editor, the simulator and variable view
windows simultaneously. You can observe the I/O states that are changing in all
the open windows simultaneously as the program executes, making an already
effective PLC ladder learning tool better than ever!
- Monitoring I/O states on ladder diagram and
full screen simultaneously - this was not possible with the DOS
version.
- Printing under Windows (with Print Preview)
generates beautiful print outs for your project or assignment
report.
- Most of the keyboard interface in original
TRiLOGI has been carefully preserved. Experienced users of DOS version of
TRiLOGI will feel at home with the new window version.
- TRiLOGI Version 5.0 can read all ".PC3",
".PE3" and ".PC4" files created by the DOS version of TRiLOGI, thereby
maintaining backward compatibility with the DOS version of
TRiLOGI.

PLC Training Course
Instructor Comments: "I use TRiLOGI in the college
classroom. I have each student download and install TRiLOGI on their home
computer, and I then give them programming assignments to do at home. They
individually write, run and debug their PLC programs, and then email their
program files to me for testing and grading. Since TRiLOGI will simulate PLC
operation off-line, each student is able to obtain hands-on programming and
debugging experience without having to wait for their turn on an expensive
laboratory PLC. The students enjoy using TRiLOGI because they can see their
programs run at home without loading them into an actual PLC, it is easy to
learn, and the cost for the off-line version is zero." Prof John Hackworth, Old
Dominion Univeristy http://www.eng.odu.edu
