Do it in a few  easy steps

The DOS version of the TRiLOGI software was developed since 1991. It was originally designed as a pure "Ladder Logic" editor, compiler and simulator program and was used for programming our E10 and H-series PLCs. In 1997 we added the support for the BASIC language which enables it to program the M-series PLCs.

Although the M-series PLCs can be programmed using only the Windows Version 5.x, the DOS version 4.13 is still widely used by many users who prefer the precise control afforded by using the keyboard. In addition, the DOS version runs lightning fast on older 286 or 386 PC with only 1 M byte of RAM. Hence if you can find an old notebook computer in your store room you can instantly turn it into a fast PLC programming workstation!

Current Versions There are 3 versions of the DOS software available, one for programming each family of the PLC:
  1. Version 3.3  - For the H-series PLC.
  2. Version 3.3E - For the E10-npn or E10-Relay.
  3. Version 4.13 - For the M-series PLCs.

Note: All three DOS version of TRiLOGI are bundled free-of-charge with the Windows version of the TRiLOGI software.

Operating System: MS-DOS or PC-DOS or  "MS-DOS prompt" under *Windows 95, 98 or ME.
PLC Models Supported* 1. E10-npn and E10-Relay
2. All H-series PLCs.
3. T100MD+ PLCs
4. T100MX+ PLCs
Free Education Version  Download see further on this page
Programmer's Reference Download

1) Part One:  Ladder Logic Editor  Reference -  trilogi.pdf  (253K)
3) Part Two:   TBASIC Reference - tbasic.pdf (300K)

* Note:  DOS version of TRiLOGI software cannot be used to transfer programs to the PLCs if it runs in a DOS prompt under the Windows NT, 2000 or XP. This is because all the NT type  operating systems   do not allow the DOS program  to take control of the serial port. Other than that, the editor and simulator may still run in such environment.

FREE Downloading of DOS Version of TRiLOGI:
Version 4.1 (Evaluation, 420K)

Installation will include both Version 3.3 for E10 and H-series and Version 4.1 for T100MD+ and T100MX+ PLCs (Date stamp: Aug 15 1999)

Note: Although the new Windows version of TRiLOGI has become the new favorite tool for PLC instructors, the original DOS version software still has value for many people. Being a DOS based program means the software demands very little computing power. In fact, the software runs lightning fast even on a 16MHz 80286 PC. Hence for institutes that do not have the latest, fastest Pentium machines, the DOS version of TRiLOGI is still a great software for training students on PLC ladder logic programming.

TRiLOGI software is the industry's most  user-friendly Ladder Logic Editor + Simulator Software. An educational/evaluational version of this program  is available for FREE downloading here! This highly acclaimed PLC (programmable logic controller) software has been used by many companies, colleges and technical institutes in many countries to train new users on ladder logic programming, including Australia's RMIT, TAFE and USA's Old Dominion University, Purdue University, Kent State University, etc. It is the only free ladder logic software which allows real-time, off-line simulation of users' programs on the fly on any IBM compatible PCs! This makes it a highly productive tool for new users or students to learn ladder logic programming without having to fight for often limited "PLC training stations".  It is thus possible for the trainers to set more challenging problems and test student-solutions easily with the help of the simulator.

PLC Training Course Instructor Comments:

"I use TriLOGI in the college classroom. I have each student download and install TriLOGI on their home computer, and I then give them programming assignments to do at home. They individually write, run and debug their PLC programs, and then email their program files to me for testing and grading. Since TriLOGI will simulate PLC operation off-line, each student is able to obtain hands-on programming and debugging experience without having to wait for their turn on an expensive laboratory PLC. The students enjoy using TriLOGI because they can see their programs run at home without loading them into an actual PLC, it is easy to learn, and the cost for the off-line version is zero."

Note to Professors:  A Free TRiLOGI software for Every Student!!

We welcome any technical institutes and colleges to use the TRiLOGI software to train students on ladder logic programming at no charge at all!   We would appreciate it if you could email to us at: ridders.pack@pandora.be to inform us that you will be providing a link to our website at:   so that the students can download the TRiLOGI software from our webpage to do their homework!  Suggestions and feedback on our products would be greatly appreciated. Please tell your friends and colleages about the program if you enjoy using it.

Trilogi PLC software Tutorial - by  Prof T.C. Chang, Purdue University, Indiana.

The software is actually an evaluation version of our TRiLOGI Ladder Logic Editor, Simulator and Downloader software used for programming our entire range of Programmable Controllers. The only difference being that the evaluation version does not support communication with the actual PLC, which is NOT needed at all for simulation test of the ladder program.

I. Evaluation version of TRiLOGI - Features and Restrictions

The evaluation version is almost identical to the fully-functional version except with some modifications being made to the communication modules. You can create and save ladder logic program, simulate and test them thoroughly as though programming for a real-world PLC application. The only restriction is that the created programs cannot be transferred to the target PLCs using the evaluation version of TRiLOGI.

However, because users who are using the evaluation version of TRiLOGI usually means that they have not yet purchased the PLC, communication with the target PLC such as "Program Transfer", "On-Line Monitoring" etc cannot be performed in any case. Hence in the evaluation copy of TRiLOGI these functions are not truely implemented. Instead the users is presented with a mock-up display on screen to demonstrate what will happen when the actual target PLC is connected and the relevant command is executed. Despite the restrictions, the evaluation version of TRiLOGI is itself a great learning and simulation tool for new or experienced Ladder-Logic programmers alike who are able to quickly test out their ladder programs without connecting a single wire!

II. Installing TRiLOGI Software

The evaluation version of TRiLOGI software is available here for free downloading. You are reminded to read our copyright notice pertaining to the downloading of copyrighted materials.

Please click at EITHER ONE of the following links:

1) Self-Extracting ZIP file (unzip in Windows 3.1 or Windows 95/98 only) - TLEVAL.EXE . Enter the drive or directory you wish to install TRiLOGI evaluation program(default is "c:\tleval" ) and click "unzip".

                         OR

2) Compressed ZIP file (run in DOS) - The TRiLOGI (evaluation) software is compressed into a ZIP file - TLEVAL.ZIP and you can download this file into a temporary directory and unzip it using one of the popular unzip software. Two files will be extracted:

  • INSTALL.BAT
  • TLEVAL.EX_

At the DOS prompt, enter the command "INSTALL C:" to install the TRiLOGI software to drive C: (or any other disk drive letter). A new directory: "TLEVAL" will be created on the disk together with other sub-directories.

III. Running TRiLOGI (Evaluation)

At the DOS prompt, type "TL" followed by the <Enter> key to start the program. Three versions of the programs are provided:

  • Version 3.3E - Exclusively for the E10 PLCs
  • Version 3.3 - For all the H-series PLCs.
  • Version 4.1 - For all the T100MX family of Super PLCs.

You will be prompted to select the the PLC type from the menu. Alternatively, you may start the relevant version of TRiLOGI program directly by running the following batch files:

  1. E10 (Version 3.3E) : TLE.BAT
  2. H-series PLC (Version 3.3): TLH.BAT
